A woman fought off two people who attempted to take her vehicle when they had planned to go to a casino, according to police.

The incident occurred at about 10:35 p.m. April 19 near 6200 N. 59th Avenue.

According to a report, Glendale Police Department officers responded to a parking lot in the area for an attempted carjacking.

A female victim told police she had met two women at a local casino the night before. On April 19, one of the women called the victim - who is new to the state - as they planned to go out and meet at the address above.

While the woman waited in her SUV, the two women from the night before arrived. They entered the victim’s vehicle and displayed a handgun, ordering the woman from her SUV. A struggle ensued, during which the female victim returned to her vehicle and drove off.

The suspects fled on foot when a passerby took notice of the incident.

Police established a perimeter but did not locate the suspects.

The victim provided a vehicle description (white SUV) and a phone number of the female acquaintance she met.
