Surprise police seek the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect who shot at a vehicle while driving on Monday night.

Police say a similar but not yet related incident occurred two days later.

The first incident occurred before 10 p.m. on April 17 near the intersection of Paradise Lane and Reems Road.

During the incident, the victim dialed 911 and reported being shot at while driving away and fleeing from an unknown vehicle. The victim reported being followed by the suspect for several miles. After making several turns, the victim lost sight of the suspect vehicle. The victim continued to drive until a police officer contacted them near Loop 303 and Waddell Road.

After the police contacted the victim, they discovered the rear window of the victim’s vehicle was broken by what appeared to be a bullet fragment.

During the investigation, witnesses reported seeing another vehicle chasing the victim and described the suspect vehicle as an older model Honda Accord, either dark grey or silver in color.

On Wednesday, April 19, another victim contacted police and stated they discovered a bullet hole in their vehicle. They reportedly were in the same area as in Monday's incident, heard a loud noise, but did not notice any damage until Wednesday morning. The victim in this case did not see a suspect and it is unknown at this time if the two incidents are related.
