Meet Ryan
Ryan Winslett joined Independent Newsmedia, Inc., USA in the summer of 2023, when the company acquired the Fountain Hills Times, which has moved forward as the Fountain Hills Times Independent under INI’s umbrella. He began his professional career in 2005 as a schools and sports reporter and was named to the editor position in 2015. Shortly after joining INI, he was named managing editor of the North Valley, overseeing news operations in Fountain Hills, Scottsdale and the Town of Paradise Valley.

Community: Ryan was a long-time member of the Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth Coalition, representing the media sector. Over the years, he’s taken part in a variety of activities and fundraisers supporting local schools, including judging essay competitions, dog shows and the like.

Education: Graduated from Northern Arizona University with a BS in journalism and a minor in photography.

Random Fact: For about a decade, Ryan held down a second job in journalism covering the video games industry.

Hobbies: Ryan is a horror fiend. He also loves movies, video games, reading, writing short stories and gathering with friends for an evening of tabletop gaming.
