Philip Dean Clowes (Age 59) died after a long illness in Scottsdale, AZ, on April 26, 2022.
He is survived by two daughters, Casey Clowes and Shannon Renner, and his former spouse DeeAnne Boyer McClenahan.
His professional career began in the computer field, but his love and natural affinity for sales led him to a successful career throughout the US as a Manager and Sales Professional in the window treatment industry. In the Phoenix-Scottsdale area, Phil worked with companies including Arizona Blinds, AmeriZona Products, Norman International, Inc., and Window Products Management, Inc.
Phil was an avid hiker, motorcycle enthusiast, and volunteer. He was a decade-long volunteer with Recycle Your Bicycle Arizona, where he helped refurbish bicycles for children in Foster Care and enjoyed dressing as Santa for the charity’s annual Christmas distribution of bikes.
While living in Georgia, Phil recognized a need for a youth mentorship program in the northwest Georgia area where he lived, and he helped create a new Chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
In addition to his daughters, Phil is survived by sisters Joan (Jeff Butvinik) and Kate (Jeffrey Dickerson), nieces Laura Butvinik, Kelly Dickerson, nephew Sean Dickerson, grandnephew Frankie Searle, aunts Mildred Bluestein and Joan Crowley, and cousins Tony Crowley, John Crowley (Lindsey), Maureen Williams (George), Nancy Clowes, Colleen Kollar-Kotelly (John), Ellen Kollar (Jim Stockmal) and numerous second cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dean and Gladys Clowes, his nephew Michael Butvinik, and cousins Ronnie Kruze and Stephen Crowley.
A celebration of life will be held October 14 at 6 pm at the Elks Lodge #2148, 6398 E. Oak St., Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Recycle Your Bicycle Arizona or Sierra Club in Phil’s memory would be appreciated.
