The Handbell Ringers of Sun City are looking for experienced musicians to ring their biggest bells.
Sometimes called “buckets and pails,” the bronze “buckets” are heavy, weighing 6-8 pounds each. The Handbell Ringers are looking for two strong ringers, volunteers who will be able to read music, count, lift and ring an eight-pound bell on time.
Applicants will be interviewed and auditions will be in September when the winter season begins.
Handbell Ringers of Sun City is a volunteer community handbell choir consisting of 23-25 ringers. The group is a chartered club under the Recreation Centers of Sun City and they have been ringing for more than 50 years, playing a variety of music: jazz, classical, sacred and secular, at levels 2, 3 and 4.
