The city of Glendale named Tabitha Perry as its new Interim Planning Administrator.

Perry brings 20 years of experience with the city to her new role, most recently as the executive officer for Special Projects. As Interim Planning Administrator, she will organize and direct the activities and staff of the Planning Division.

Glendale’s Planning Division provides a multitude of services related to both long-range and current planning. The division administers the General Plan and Zoning Ordinance regarding new development and redevelopment projects.

Planning aids the community in development and the permit review process, carries out plans in strategic locations and provides professional information to the city manager, elected officials and the public to support quality growth and focused development in Glendale.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to serve at another level within this organization,” Perry stated in a news release. “I am passionate about customer service, quality development and the forward-thinking attitude that has led to the many significant economic development projects in Glendale. I hope to continue developing the professional planning division team to strengthen our professional relationship with the development community.”

During her time in Glendale, Perry has served as Principal Planner, Assistant Planning Director and Special Projects Executive Officer. In those roles Perry has developed a diverse skillset including budgeting, planning, zoning, master development planning, processing expedited projects from conception (Economic Development) to finished product (Building Safety-Completion of Occupancy).

“Tabitha not only knows our city and understands our business-friendly approach, she has fostered relationships with and earned the trust of our very important customers who want to be part of the exciting growth happening in Glendale,” Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps stated.

Perry has a Master of Public Administration degree from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.

Ms. Perry begins her new role July 6.
