The Zymurgy Club of Sun City West will host its annual chili cook-off 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Zymurgy Clubhouse at the R.H. Johnson Activity Center, entrance D3, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd.

This year, there will be 10 chili cooks preparing their favorite chili recipes and decorating their tables with a theme they select. Independent judges will award cash prizes to the two best chili recipes.

Prizes will also be awarded based on the public vote for the best chili and table decorations. The $10 admission gets visitors all the chili they can eat, plus snacks and dessert. Bring beverages.

Zymurgy is the art and science of fermentation.

The club includes dedicated explorers of the fermentation process, searching out unique flavor combinations that delight  palates.

The club's evolving interests are beers, ales, wines, meads, ciders and other cordial drinks, along with foods that, paired together, enhance our life experiences.

Coffee roasting has recently been added.

The membership period is for 12 months, from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.

New members can join in the last quarter (Oct – Dec) and their membership will be good through the following year.
