Night Market makes tasty return to Peoria

Two nights of entertainment coming in November

The 2nd Annual AZ Night Market returns to Peoria next month.

The internationally-flavored event takes place 5-11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 and 4-11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Osuna Park, 10510 N. 83rd Ave.

“The event offers the community an opportunity to connect and experience different cultures through unique food, drinks, merchandise, cultural education, music entertainment and interactive fun without having to travel all around the world,” a news release from the Universal Cultural Organization (UCO), which sponsors the Night Market, states.

UCO is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to provide a cultural exchange through the beauty of art, entertainment, food and cultural education. The organization started in 2013, and previously hosted the Arizona Asian Lantern Festival in Peoria and Fountain Hills. The night market features food and merchandise vendors; a kids hangout; live music and a DJ; beer, wine, cocktails bar; the Miss International Culture Pageant; and more.

“The hustle and bustle of street markets can be found all around the world from Spain, Turkey, Morocco, France, all over Asia, and more. They are streets filled with vendors that offer unique food, merchandise, arts, and essential goods. But for some markets, the fun doesn’t happen till night falls,” UCO states. “Night markets are more prominent in Asian countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Thailand but they are becoming more popular in other countries including North America.”
