A teen stole a woman’s vehicle at gunpoint early Tuesday at a bank in Sun City, according to the sheriff’s office.

The incident occurred after midnight April 4 at the Bank of America near 107th and Grand avenues.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, a 64-year-old female had finished depositing money at the ATM. When she turned around to return to her vehicle, a teenage boy approached her with a handgun. He pointed the gun at her and demanded money. She told him she did not have any, to which he demanded the keys to her black 2002 Ford F-150 pick-up truck with Arizona license plate number AKR-8780.

The suspect entered the truck and drove northwest on Grand Avenue.

The woman walked over to the Speakeasy bar located in the same shopping center to call 911.

MCSO deputies from the District 3 substation in Surprise were notified and assumed the investigation. The woman was not injured. The suspect is still outstanding.

The robber is described as a black male, 14 to 16 years old, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and a small build. He had a 9 mm handgun, according to MCSO.
