Johnson: It’s fashionable to support fashion startups

Posted

It’s fashionable to support apparel startups, innovation, sustainability, technology, and domestic manufacturing!

You can show your support today by aligning with the nation’s most unique fashion incubator right here in Tempe.

FABRIC is a nonprofit fashion incubator that has supported over 800 apparel entrepreneurs since 2016. FABRIC has provided hundreds of scholarships to disadvantaged entrepreneurs including minorities, veterans, differently-abled and low-income entrepreneurs.

In an effort to democratize fashion, FABRIC provides affordable industry resources that make starting a fashion brand and manufacturing a sewn product more accessible to digitally native creatives.

As a result, FABRIC has contributed over $6.7 million in free and discounted programs and services and has created a unique model that has made Tempe the envy of many cities and a beacon for modern apparel entrepreneurs. Even President Biden and Vice President Harris paid a visit to FABRIC to see it for themselves.

FABRIC’s 26,000-square-foot incubator building includes manufacturing, design, classrooms, photo studios, a hair/makeup salon, brand offices, designer studios, and most importantly, an event space that hosts fashion shows, weddings, music festivals, corporate events and more. Event space generates the income required to fuel FABRIC’s mission.

In order to mitigate the impact that COVID-19 has had on the ability to generate income from the event space, and to continue to support hundreds of apparel brands with affordable, innovative, and scarce industry resources, FABRIC is looking to the community for support.

Fashion lovers can support FABRIC in many ways.

Looking for an affordable, industrial, flexible event space in downtown Tempe? Consider hosting your next event at FABRIC. Hoping to make a fashion statement on the red carpet?

Attend or participate in one of FABRIC’s signature events. Hoping to make a meaningful financial contribution to your community, make a donation that helps FABRIC support hundreds of apparel entrepreneurs to build their businesses and make their dreams come true.

Or align with FABRIC in a major way and become FABRIC’s title sponsor. The FABRIC Title Sponsor’s name/logo would be incorporated into FABRIC’s logo and appear on all incubator building and digital marketing materials.

FABRIC Tempe is a nonprofit that provides apparel entrepreneurs with training, guidance, innovative industry resources, and access to no-minimum manufacturing, so they can build sustainable fashion businesses domestically.

Long-term, the organization aims to build upon this work in a way that establishes Arizona as a modern fashion industry capital by creating a tech-based, sustainable, closed-loop ecosystem that attracts and supports direct-to-consumer apparel brands.
