American Heart Health Month: Take time to listen to your heart in February

Posted

Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital is kicking off American Heart Month with Wear Red Day and a community health education event on Friday, Feb. 4.

The day is a reminder for women to take control of their heart health, as well as wearing red to raise awareness and recognize all the work that is accomplished by our staff and physicians.

Together, we can encourage others to listen to your heart.

Abrazo offers the public many ways to participate in education and screenings during the month of February. Whether it’s weekly emails, screening events or webinars, many easy-to-access options are available to help improve heart health.

Visitors to AbrazoHeath.com can read about heart health tips during the Heart Health Challenge. Articles with information, recipes and do-at-home exercises that can add up to a healthier heart. Making a few lifestyle adjustments can have a powerful effect on our heart health.

Community open house events are being planned at Abrazo hospitals in Phoenix, Surprise, Glendale and Cave Creek. AngioScreen is a $59 risk assessment that provides information about heart rhythm, blood pressure, BMI and blood flow in the neck and leg arteries following a brief exam. A clinician provides a brief consultation, and participants are encouraged to share results with their physician for follow up.

These open house events will also offer blood pressure and heart rhythm checks at no charge for those not participating in the AngioScreen screenings. Masking and other precautions will be in place for the on-site events.

You can RSVP at AbrazoHealth.com/angioscreen or call 888-602-3648.
