Glendale police arrested a man last week after he attempted to assault officers with a knife, according to a report.
The incident occurred Tues. Jan. 31 at about 11:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of North 57th Avenue at the main Glendale Police Department station.
An officer was driving down the parking garage ramp of the main station when he noticed a man, now identified as Emilio Manza, 28, walking between employee vehicles while holding a rock larger than a softball.
At the same time, two detectives noticed Manzo while they drove up the ramp. They passed each other and exited their respective vehicles.
As the officials approached Manzo, he dropped the rock and drew a folding knife. The detectives drew their weapons and ordered Manzo to drop the knife. The officer drew his Taser, but Manzo refused to comply and get on the ground.
The officer Tased Manzo, allowing the officials to arrest him.
Under Miranda Rights, Manzo admitted to damaging other City vehicles and property.
The Maricopa County Superior Court lists charges of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, and one count each of disoderly conduct and criminal damage.
