Carol, 74, of Surprise, Arizona, formerly of Tinley Park, Illinois, passed away on November 8th, 2023, after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born on January 18th, 1949, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to the late Charles and Jeanne Adkins. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who lived her life with joy and generosity. For 34 years, Carol devoted herself to teaching in the Chicago Public Schools system. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was a faithful and active member of her church and various clubs and organizations. She had a passion for life and helping others, which was only surpassed by her devotion to her faith and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Edward, her sister Joyce (Larry) Eischen, her children Maureen (Daryl) Wallace, Mark (Elizabeth) Leong, Laura (Dave) Kalkowski, Jeffrey Leong, Jonathan Leong, John (Kristi) Tannheimer, Joshua Leong, Kathleen (Adam) Parise, and 19 grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on November 13th, 2023 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church 15820 West Clearview Boulevard, Surprise, AZ 85374, followed by a service and burial at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
