Georgiana "Georgia" (Rundle) Bloss

Georgiana (Rundle) Bloss, “Georgia” of Sun City, AZ, age 86, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023. Georgia was born on June 7, 1936, in Fort Collins, CO to Dale (Temple) and John Rundle.
Her father died in a car accident when she was 7 months old. She was raised in Axtell, KS by her loving grandparents Clyde and Nina Temple. Georgia graduated from Axtell High School in 1954. She attended Kansas State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in music(1954-1958). During her time at Kansas State, Georgia was an original member of the K-State Singers and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was crowned Miss Kansas in 1957 and represented the state of Kansas in the Miss America Pageant later that year.
Georgia offered her gift of singing throughout her life as a soloist and in church choirs and choral groups for almost 70 years. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, decorating and entertaining family and friends. Georgia and her first husband James A. Smith had three daughters. She was a mother and grandmother who always made sure her children and grandchildren knew how proud she was of them and how much she loved them.
She married again later in life to Dale R. Bloss. They enjoyed traveling by car across the United States to visit friends and family for many years.
Georgia is survived by her sister Marcia Somers (Terry) of Mt. Hope, KS, three daughters, - Jaime Farrier (Tommy) of Glendale, AZ, Leslie Baird (John) of Peoria, AZ, Shelby Crowley (Dick) of Phoenix, AZ, six grandchildren, Courtney (Sean), Carley (Tony), Emily, Michael, Jack, Grace, and two great-grandchildren, Elsie Joe and Milo, as well as three nieces and two nephews and their families. Georgia is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and Nina Temple, her parents, John Rundle and Dale (Temple Rundle) Huffman, stepfather Ralph Huffman, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Katherine Huffman, and husband Dale Bloss.
A memorial service celebrating Georgia’s life will be held on April 24, 2023, at 11:00 am at Bellevue Heights Church, 9440 West Hutton Drive, Sun City, AZ 85351.
